Eme Be Garrote – that is the name of the news restaurant opened by famous chef Martin Berasategui. Martin has already been awarded with 6 Michelin stars in total, 3 of them for his restaurant located in San Sebastian.
His new project is a renovated cider house, which has been converted into a new and fashionable restaurant without loosing the charm of the traditional values. The contemporary style can be described as “basque-scandinavian” with a lot of wood and a warm atmosphere. All materials such as tables, chairs and decoration that have been used to refurbish the restaurant have been found in the old farmhouse and restaurant that accommodates the restaurant. Like this, the original style and spirit has been conserved.
The cuisine is based on local products and traditional dishes, brought to a state of the art preparation. A lot is done on open fire and there is special attention to intense flavors and a attractive presentation.
For groups, the cider barrels can be opened for a typical welcome reception. We pour the cider from the barrels directly into the glass. This ritual is calles TXOTX!
